What this site is for

It exists to help someone decide about fat removal. The medical system around the operation — what the techniques are, how tissue behaves, how a surgical service is organised — is already documented in the hospital's subject sites for breast and body contouring and in Dr. Mao's own professional site. Repeating that material would add nothing. What is often missing is the patient's side of the decision: whether to do this at all, which route fits which problem, what recovery really demands, and when the honest answer is no.

How it is written

Every guide follows one decision from beginning to end and states its limits as plainly as its benefits. Where the evidence for a technique is modest, the text says so. Where an operation is the wrong match for a problem, the text says that too. Nothing here is written to make an operation sound easier than it is, and no result is promised.

What it will not do

It will not name brands of drugs or devices: products are described by class only. It will not quote prices, because cost depends on the plan and the plan depends on an assessment. It will not publish dosages, and it will not invent credentials, awards or case volumes for any clinician.

Medical review

The content is reviewed by Tongchun Mao, MD, Deputy Director and Head of Aesthetic Surgery at Chongqing West District Hospital, and is dated on every page. It is patient education, not medical advice: it does not describe your case, and it does not replace an assessment by a qualified clinician who has examined you.
